As a club we are always looking at ways to develop our offering and make football based activities available for as many people as we can.

With that in mind we are pleased to announce a new trial venture for the club - Raven Squad Futsal Club.

This will be midweek futsal training offered to both Ravenshead Reds existing players and other players from the local community.

Futsal is a variant of football played indoors on a smaller, hard-surfaced court.

Unlike traditional football, futsal emphasizes skill, speed, and ball control due to the smaller playing area and a heavier, low-bounce ball.

The game is fast-paced, fun and focuses on quick passes and technical proficiency.

Futsal is especially popular for developing football players' skills, as it encourages creativity and tight-space maneuvering. It is also great for fitness.

To begin with it will be a short term trial moving into regular weekly sessions if we get the uptake.

It will be largely game based practice with the opportunity to play in friendly matches against other clubs and even tournaments on occasions.

Sessions will be designed and ran by FA and UEFA licensed futsal and football coaches.

Sessions will consist of 12-16 players split by age (to be determined based upon interest along with times). Sessions are planned as mixed in suitable age groups but depending upon interest we may be able to also offer female only sessions.

Sessions are provisionally priced at £25/month discounted for Ravenshead Reds players as part of their existing club membership to £20/month. The 1st trial session will be £1.

The first trial session is targeted for mid September depending upon the number of those who register interest prior to this.

This is a quickly growing sport and uptake is anticipated to be high making spaces limited. Anyone who misses out this time will be added to a waiting list and contacted as spaces become available or extra sessions are added.

Following registration of interest more details will be released to those successful regarding days, times slots, age groups etc.
