Update

Vikings Update

Just a bit of news from me this morning.

Firstly I would like everyone to welcome Noah on board and his parents Jamie & Lindsey. Noah is a quick, committed defender who is in the process of joining us from Market Warsop, he will be available to play soon after his registration transfers over. He currently plays Sundays, trains with our boys and has fit in brilliantly to the club. Noah loves defending which is rare in the younger boys and will take some of the load off our defenders, as we have less of them than forward thinking players.

Also some bitter sweet news for me. As most of you know that our “mini Messi” Elliott is currently on trial at Nottingham Forest so not with us a lot. As much as I miss having him with us Ell is doing brilliantly with Forest and I’m so proud of him!! We want to support him and give him every chance to focus on this opportunity, so whilst he is at Forest, we will be very careful and look to give Ell Saturday mornings to rest. Ell will 100% be back if the situation changes.

After this season we will move to 9 a side. We will then have bigger goals, longer matches etc. probably a squad of 14 required by April. The plan was to recruit 1 player at Xmas to ensure we have enough available to make this transition.

However with Noah becoming available and El at Forest this has presented an opportunity to do this slightly earlier than planned, this is 100% the right one for the team. It not only prepared us for a 9v9 season it also prevents us cancelling games this season due to injury, illness and availability like we had to last season.

Just one ask from me. If anyone wants to catch up or have a chat to me about any club matters can I ask that it’s on a 121 basis in the correct forum (i.e. not the club WhatsApp groups or during matchday).

We have had a great start to the season following a good summer so I’m pleased with all the boys.

Thankyou for all your support as always.

Reminder that we have an exciting afternoon next Sunday at St George’s park with arrangements to follow soon!!

Thanks

Dave
